“Undercover Martyn,” the first song that I have ever heard by Two Door Cinema Club, is that song that instantly got me hooked on them, and interested to hear more.
I remember constantly blasting this in my car with the windows down over the summer, so I guess it also has some sentimental value because it brings me back to last summer, and being with all of my friends and family. It came on my Spotify shuffle one day, and it has never gotten old.
“Cigarettes in the Theatre” is another really good song, but I actually found this song a lot later than the other ones, because somehow I managed to somehow discover this album in chunks. It is one of those songs that you listen to and then get stuck in your head the rest of he day, but you don’t even really mind because it’s just that good. Another song similar to this is called “This is the Life,” which is one of my personal favorites because it is very happy and catchy. Okay, onto Tourist History! I should probably mention that Two Door Cinema Club is pretty much known for their techno-ish sound and an upbeat tempo, which one of the songs they are known for, “Something Good Can Work,” definitely lives up to. The band’s genre has often been described as indie rock, indie pop, dance punk, and post-punk revival. He also mentioned that the band was aiming to release the album by early 2015. In an interview with the BBC on July 15th, Trimble stated that the band had started work on their third studio album. The band’s second album, Beacon, was released on September 3rd 2012, debuted at number one on the Irish Albums Chart and reached number two in the UK Albums Chart. The band’s debut album that I will be focusing on today, Tourist History, was released on March 1st 2010, and gave them a significant amount of commercial fame. The band consists of Alex Trimble (vocals, rhythm guitar, beats, synths), Sam Halliday (lead guitar, backing vocals), and Kevin Baird (bass, synths, backing vocals). Two Door Cinema Club is among one of my favorite bands out there, so I’m pretty knowledgeable about their songs and discography.įirst of all, Two Door Cinema Club is a Northern Irish indie rock band from Bangor and Donaghadee, formed in 2007.
